Partly created by users, shared virtual worlds can be found elsewhere. ![]() We now have virtual reality headsets that will allow you to be right there among those pixelated images. If you’ve seen Second Life (circa 2006) or even Golden Eye 007 from the late 1990s, it’ll be familiar, as the Metaverse’s graphics haven’t advanced that far forward from those pixelated images. But unless you’re a gamer or a devotee, visiting it may still be a little underwhelming, at least for now - and especially for gamers. ![]() You’ve probably seen images or entered the Metaverse, perhaps in places like Decentraland or The Sandbox. I packed my virtual bag and set off on a journey to find out. Are brands simply jumping on the PR bandwagon of hyperspeed? Is this the future of PR? Is it a time or place that is near? How soon? ![]() But no one knows what it will look like.Īt present, people say it’s clunky and difficult to use and are waiting for further development.
